Getting Out the Vote for November 2!
The 2010 midterm elections are right around the corner, and the officials we elect (including those who will draw our new district lines in 2012) are only responsible to those who participate. Help your constituents stand up and be recognized again this year – visit www.nonprofitvote.org for nonpartisan ways for your 501c3 to incorporate voter engagement into ongoing activities.
To our Friends and Partners in the nonprofit community,
Thank you and congratulations! By participating in outreach and education on the 2010 Census, you’ve helped lay the groundwork for a more accurate and inclusive picture of our communities - one that our neighborhoods need in order to ensure a decade of fair funding, representation and acknowledgment.
The results of the first mail-in phase of the Census are in. At more than 70% it exceeded the rate in 2000. The Census is now in the final stages of its Quality Assurance Checks. Field reports indicate the count continues to exceed expectations. There will be room for some adjustments for undercounted populations.
The official count will be announced in early 2011.
We will keep all our nonprofit partners updated through the newsletter and blog at our main website, www.nonprofitvote.org. Or visit the 2010 Census site for any updates.
Again, thanks for all of your hard work.
